About This Package
For electrical engineers working across distribution systems
Choose this online renewal package when overhead or underground distribution, construction inspection and restoration planning are important parts of your practice. It combines four hours of utility-distribution instruction with seven hours in building electrical code applications and grounding and bonding.
What the distribution and electrical courses cover
The utility course examines network topology, loading and voltage checks, overhead and underground construction, inspection evidence, protection interfaces and controlled restoration planning. The NEC course covers load and conductor review, ratings and installation interfaces. The grounding and bonding course addresses source and neutral topology, conductor sizing, electrode connections and installation verification.
Five supporting engineering hours address cybersecurity and operational technology risk, reliability and maintainability, and construction safety. Florida Laws & Rules and Engineering Ethics provide one hour each, bringing the total to 18.
How this differs from Electrical / Building Systems
Both electrical renewal packages include the NEC and grounding courses. Utility Distribution includes the four-hour distribution course instead of the four-hour quality-assurance course found in Electrical / Building Systems. Choose Building Systems when design review and change control better match your responsibilities. The seven-PDH Electrical Code & Grounding bundle is a narrower technical option and does not include utility distribution.
Credits and important exclusions
Includes 18 CEH/PDH: 1 Laws & Rules, 1 Ethics and 16 engineering hours. Confirm at least four technical hours match your area of practice. This is professional-engineer continuing education, not electrician, contractor or lineworker qualification. An Advanced Florida Building Code course is not included; the NEC courses do not substitute for it. Check overlapping courses before purchasing another electrical package.
