About This Package

For mechanical engineers reviewing fluid and building systems

Choose this online renewal package when your work spans HVAC performance and pumping-system decisions. Its two four-hour mechanical courses connect distribution and control issues in buildings with the hydraulic behavior of pumps, piping and valves.

What the eight-hour mechanical selection covers

The HVAC course examines design review, constructability, airside and hydronic distribution, control sequences, commissioning and functional testing. The pumping course adds hydraulic boundaries, pipe and local losses, pump-system curves, suction conditions and net positive suction head, valve sizing, variable-speed and parallel operation, energy use and measured diagnosis.

Eight supporting engineering hours cover quality assurance and change control, lifecycle-cost decisions, and reliability and maintainability. One hour each of Florida Laws & Rules and Engineering Ethics completes the 18-hour selection.

Choosing between the mechanical combinations

Mechanical / HVAC contains the HVAC course with the broader common core, but not the separate pumping course. Mechanical / Thermal Systems replaces pumping with boilers, steam systems and heat exchangers while retaining HVAC and the same supporting courses. The eight-PDH Mechanical Pumps & Building Systems bundle offers only the two mechanical courses for engineers who have arranged their other renewal subjects separately.

Credits and exclusions

Includes 18 CEH/PDH: 1 Laws & Rules, 1 Ethics and 16 engineering hours. Confirm at least four technical hours relate to your area of practice. The boilers and heat-exchangers course is not included. An Advanced Florida Building Code course is not included; obtain it separately when applicable. Check prior completions before buying another package that contains the same HVAC or pumping courses.
