About This Package

For mechanical engineers working across HVAC and thermal plants

Choose this online renewal package when both building-system performance and boiler, steam or heat-exchanger duties are relevant to your practice. Two four-hour mechanical courses provide a wider thermal-systems selection than a package built around only HVAC or only boilers.

What the combined mechanical coursework covers

The HVAC course examines design review, constructability, distribution systems, control sequences, commissioning and functional testing. The boilers course follows feedwater and energy boundaries, steam delivery and drainage, condensate recovery, exchanger duty and fouling, steam-control stall, installation acceptance and integrated diagnosis.

Eight supporting engineering hours cover quality assurance and change control, engineering economics and lifecycle costs, and reliability and maintainability. One hour each of Florida Laws & Rules and Engineering Ethics completes the 18-hour package. This selection connects equipment and system performance with the broader decisions needed to review and maintain engineering work.

Thermal Systems or Pumps & Fluid Systems?

Both combinations include HVAC and the same supporting courses. Thermal Systems includes boilers, steam and heat exchangers; Pumps & Fluid Systems substitutes the separate pumping, valves and fluid-flow course. The single-specialty Mechanical / HVAC and Mechanical / Boilers & Steam Systems packages each use one four-hour specialty course with the common 14-hour core instead.

Credits and important exclusions

Includes 18 CEH/PDH: 1 Laws & Rules, 1 Ethics and 16 engineering hours. Confirm at least four technical hours match your area of practice. The separate pumping course is not included. This is PE continuing education, not boiler-operator or trade certification. An Advanced Florida Building Code course is not included; obtain it separately when applicable. Review shared courses before buying another mechanical package.
